Topic : European Oak Physical properties

Quantity Value Unit
Young's modulus 9200 - 13500 MPa
Tensile strength 50 - 180 MPa
Compressive strength 48 - 70 MPa
Bending strength 78 - 117 MPa

How are you suppose to interpret the tensile strength numbers ?? PSI is 910 times MPa which would

put OAK in the same realm as Steel, I.E. 45,000 PSI... highly unlikely... Should it be in terms of per

square foot instead of per square inch ???

HELP Please...???...

.....Bill

Hi,

I am looking for thermal conductivity in AlMg 5 at low temperatures (around 19 to 27ºK).

Thanks.

Topic : Conductive polymer

Hello! I am new to this forum and would like some help with the sourcing (or mixing) of a conductive polymer to be used for the creation of a test object (known as 'phantom') for a new breast cancer screening modality called Electrical Impedance Tomography.

What we are trying to achieve is a material that is mouldable, is water resistant, non-perishable (i.e. a few weeks of shelf life) and will have a known electrical conductivity. The last part is the most important! We want to be able to control the conductivity of the polymer, or at least specify it before manufacturing.

Any thoughts or ideas would be most welcome!

Nick

Hi Ralph, You are correct. We checked the data and found the range should run from 0.56 to 0.6 Ohm.mm2/m. Thanks for reporting this error. Regards, Richard

Firstly thank you for a fantastic website. I find it most useful.

I would like to point out what looks like an error on the X10Cr13 (mart.) (410) page.
Resistivity is listed as 460 Ohm.mm^2/m

All the other stainless steel are around 0.75 to 0.78 range

Thanks
Ralph

I have a quick question; can anyone provide me with the surface roughness of AL H14 versus 303 Stainless Steel?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that we have corrected the values for specific heat for both PC and soft PVC. Thanks again for letting us know. Regards, Richard
